How IPL Laser Works
IPL laser is a newer alternative to single-procedure laser treatments with pulsed dye lasers or the Nd:YAG laser. Whereas these lasers produce a single wavelength of light, IPL machines produce a large spectrum of light. After years of use in treating vascular lesions, it was discovered that IPL treatments also reduce the redness and flushing associated with rosacea.
There are no known cures for rosacea and IPL treatments are no exception. They can, however, significantly reduce your symptoms.
What to Expect
The results of an IPL rosacea laser treatment will vary from person to person. Although it may not be effective for everyone, a number of studies have shown that it does lead to positive results in most cases. Some reduction of symptoms may be noticeable after only one or two treatments but, for most people, a series of treatments, along with maintenance treatments, are required for lasting effects.
Long-term success
Long-term success is also influenced by other factors such as your skin type and exposure to the sun or other triggers you have identified.
