This year’s theme was ‘Run for the Roses’ and the guests showed their support by sporting fancy hats, fascinators, chapeaus, and bow ties. Kids Cancer Care is able to support kids and families as well as fund new research and hospital programs because of the funds raised at these events.

The Heart Truth is a national campaign of the Heart and Stroke Foundation that aims to empower women to put their heart health first. The Heart Truth Calgary Fashion Show brings this mission to life; a signature event that believes in holistic health, confidence, self-care, family and philanthropy. Honourees shared their heartfelt stories and strolled down the runway in custom-made gowns from local Calgary and Canadian designers.

Drs. Bissoondath and Woodard spent 3 days of intense training in Toronto with internationally acclaimed Brazilian plastic surgeon, Dr. Mauricio de Maio. The first two days had over 600 attendees. The third day consisted of an elite group of 20 experts from across Canada for a small group Faculty Day with Dr. de Maio. Drs. Bissoondath and Woodard were pleased to be invited and thankful to Allergan for another excellent educational opportunity. Dr. de Maio’s approach to rejuvenation of the face is unique in that, instead of focusing on individual regions of the face, the patient’s overall expression is considered when developing a comprehensive treatment plan.

Members of Preventous Collaborative Health and Preventous Cosmetic Medicine were proud volunteers at the Canadian Liver Foundation’s inaugural gala. The LIVERight Gala is in support of liver research, education and awareness programs. The anticipated event honoured the Southern Alberta Liver Transplant Team and celebrated the life of liver transplant recipients. Many health care professionals were in attendance to offer their support, including Dr. Woodard of Preventous.

Preventous staff joyfully decorated the Calgary Humane Society in preparation for their annual Christmas party to kick off their Stuff a Pooch Pad. Every year the Humane Society does their best to fill one of their pooch pads in the adoption area from floor to ceiling with donations. Not to mention, their Home for the Holidays Adoption Event takes place. A cuddly companion is the perfect gift and addition to the family this holiday season.
