The Day of
Your Treatment
Come early to fill out forms and consult with our doctor or a member of our team. If this is your initial visit, you may first meet with your doctor or another staff member. We also have on-staff licensed medical aestheticians and nurses who are trained in skin care and skincare procedures and can answer many of your questions.
During Your Botox Treatment
For your comfort, you will be seated in a reclining chair. Your physician will then determine where to administer your Botox injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area. The dosage amount is determined by the degree of the wrinkles and other factors.
During your treatment, very low doses of product are administered via a few tiny injections into the muscles causing the wrinkles. Don’t worry, the needles are very fine so there is virtually no pain and no anesthesia is required. For added comfort, your doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or an anesthetic cream.
The treatment is very short, usually taking only about 10 minutes and no recovery time is required. You can get on with your day right after the treatment.
After Your Treatment
It usually takes a few days to notice the effects of the treatment and reach its full results in 2 weeks. That’s because Botulinum toxin doesn’t work on the wrinkle itself, but on the muscles causing the wrinkle. As the muscles are no longer able to contract, the wrinkles will gradually soften.
Results may vary, but the improvement may last up to four months. Once the muscles begin to work in their usual manner, the wrinkles may reappear and another treatment can be scheduled.
