The Science Behind EMSculpt
EMSculpt is a high-intensity electromagnetic therapy procedure that can build current muscles and grow new muscle fibers. EMSculpt Neo takes the technique and results of EMSculpt and raises the bar even further by combining radio-frequency and electromagnetic technology (HIFEM™) into a single highly effective treatment.
When applied to areas where fat loss is desired, treatment parameters can be set to cause a reduction of fat as well. The EMSculpt procedure is FDA-cleared to treat your abdominals, buttocks, arms, calves and thighs.
EMSculpt results in both hypertrophy, an increase in the volume of muscle, and hyperplasia, an increase in the number of muscle fibers. These changes appear as toned, sculpted muscles. EMSculpt improves core-strength, strengthens and builds quads and hamstrings, and shapes or lifts the buttocks. At the same time, EMSculpt Neo raises the temperature of fat cells leading to permanent fat breakdown within a few minutes.
How EMSculpt & EMSculpt Neo Works
EMSculpt is a highly popular non-invasive body-sculpting treatment that helps build muscle and support patients in their journey to obtain a slimmer and more toned body. Within 24 hours after the treatment, you will feel some level of soreness, similar to the one you feel after a high-intensity workout at the gym. By using high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM), the EMSculpt device delivers electromagnetic pulses to the muscles and creates supra-maximal muscle contractions. The contractions are deeper and more efficient than voluntary contractions from exercising.

To supply energy for so many muscle contractions, neighbouring fat cells break down via lipolysis and release fatty acids. EMSculpt Neo works by combining the two different types of energy to produce superior results. Firstly, using the same technique as Emsculpt – high intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM™) energy – EMSculpt Neo causes rapid muscle contractions that build muscle fibers to improve strength and tone.
At the same time, radiofrequency (RF) energy raises muscle temperature by several degrees in order to prepare them for contraction – in the same way, that you would ordinarily perform a warmup exercise ahead of any sort of significant physical exertion. Side Effects
EMSculpt side effects are typically not very bothersome. During the treatment, you may experience uncomfortable sensations when the muscles contract. These sensations are less intense as you get used to the contractions.
After your procedure, you may experience side effects such as temporary soreness of the treated area. Soreness should go away within three days. This treatment is effective for both men and women.
