Some people may not be good candidates for CoolSculpting but may be great candidates for EMSculpt. What’s the Difference Between the Two Procedures?

CoolSculpting uses cold to kill fat cells while EMSculpt uses electromagnetic technology to contract muscles leading to fat loss, toning, and muscle gain. Results are achieved over a few weeks for both treatments.

Can I use Both Treatments?

You can start with CoolSculpting to reduce fat then use EMSculpt to tone and build muscle after completing your CoolSculpting treatment. Your physician and clinician will decide if this is right for you.

Is CoolSculpting Better Than EMSculpt (or Vice Versa)?

It depends on your body and your goals. Sometimes one procedure is going to be better than the other; sometimes the choice is up to you because either treatment will be expected to work well.

How Long Do the Procedures Take?

CoolSculpting treatments take from 35 to 40 minutes. EMSculpt treatments take 20-30 minutes. You typically need more than one procedure to achieve your goals.

What Are the Side Effects of CoolSculpting Vs. EMSculpt?

CoolSculpting side effects are typically minor and include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness. In rare cases, there may be more significant side effects. After your EMSculpt procedure, you may experience side effects such as temporary soreness of the treated area. Side effects typically last just a few days, and there is usually little downtime for either procedure.

How Long Does it Take to See Results with CoolSculpting Compared to EMSculpt?

After a CoolSculpting treatment, you may start to see results as early as three weeks. Most people will experience the most dramatic results between one and three months.

EMSculpt results are visible in 2-4 weeks after your final treatment with improvements continuing for several weeks.

What Do CoolSculpting and EMSculpt Treatments Feel Like?

CoolSculpting treatments initially feel cold but as the area numbs the discomfort should go away. They can also produce sensations like tingling, prickling, cramping, and squeezing, and the massage after treatment can be a little uncomfortable.

You will feel the contractions and intensity can be managed by the EMSculpt clinician. After the first contractions, you get used to the sensation.

How Do I Decide Which Body Contouring Technology to Use?

The decision on whether to use CoolSculpting, EMSculpt, or both is up to your physician and clinician. Working with you, they will decide what technology to use when to help you achieve your goals for your body. A custom treatment plan will be prepared for you.
