Dr. Bissoondath, Suzanne, Stevie and Aimee attended the 20th Annual IMCAS (International Master Course on Aging Science) World Congress meeting in Paris to keep up to date on the latest trends in facial rejuvenation. The IMCAS is one of the most important congresses in the calendar year for thousands of cosmetic medicine professionals from all over the world.

After full days of lectures and discussions, the evenings were filled with opportunities to interact, laugh and relax.

Drs. Bissoondath and Woodard were invited to attend Allergan’s MD Codes. They spent two days in Toronto with world renowned Dr. Mauricio de Maio. Dr. de Maio’s approach to facial rejuvenation allows the patient to be treated on the emotions that they project to the world. This is the third meeting with Dr. de Maio that our doctors have been invited to attend.

Drs. Bissoondath and Woodard attended the Merz Institute Expert Summit in Montreal. By invitation only, medicine experts from around the globe gathered to discuss the latest trends, scientific developments/innovations and advances in treatments and techniques in the aesthetic industry.

Nurse Suzanne was in California for a course on the different types of lasers available in the aesthetic industry and the science behind the technology. The course took place at the Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic which hosted several expert presenters. The course covered the different wavelengths (colour of light on the spectrum) for laser technologies and what they are used for. Specifically covering the uses for vascular concerns, hair removal and treatment of pigment, among others.

Preventous Cosmetic was a proud supporter of the Building Hope for Kids Gala – A Night in Mexico! The annual event welcomes over 600 professionals each year who share a desire to support the Alberta Children’s Hospital. This year’s event will support Mental Health initiatives and funds raised will make a real difference for children and families in our community.
The evening was filled with wonderful food, festivities and celebrity guests, including Alberta’s own Paul Brandt.

Another group has returned from training at the ZO Skin Health Institute in Irvine, California. Stevie, Kim, and Shantelle thoroughly enjoyed the two days of in-depth product knowledge, along with the California heat wave. During their training they were fortunate to receive a tour of the ZO corporate building and warehouse to see the inner workings of the organization.

The event showcased the amazing efforts the CHS has made over the past year. Not to mention, the thousands of animals they’ve provided care and shelter for.
The highlight of the evening was the highly anticipated “Rescues on the Runway”, where the attendees were given the opportunity to meet various animal alumni and their adoptive families.

Bissoondath and Woodard were among a select number of Canadian physicians who were asked to take part in the Allergan Medical Institute Faculty Day that followed the Canada/Latin America 2 day aesthetic conference in Cancun. Top international aesthetic physicians led the day, including Dr. Mauricio de Maio and Dr. Arthur Swift, two of the great innovators in aesthetic medicine.

The Preventous Cosmetic team completed a 4-day intensive workshop with the master Florence Barrett-Hill (Chairman, International Association of Corneotherapy). The workshop focused on the study of corneotherapy, an innovative and progressive skin treatment methodology that has proven it is possible to achieve healthy skin by preventing or reducing structural inflammation. The Preventous team is excited to apply their increased knowledge of skin health to patient treatment plans. We are another step closer to our goal of healthy, glowing skin for all.
